You are never too young or old to learn the art of fishing. There is something special about learning the basics of rigging your line, understanding the art of casting out to sea and knowing which bait is likely to catch the wide range of edible fish swimming in Jersey’s waters.
Your local instructor will take you to one of the coastal piers or breakwaters and will teach all you will need to know for sea fishing. This is a comprehensive lesson full of essential information and hopefully the satisfaction of putting your new-found skill to good use by catching a fish for your dinner!
This activity runs all year round
Fishing sessions include: Full tuition, rods, reels, line and rigging, bait and any fish you catch
Fishing venues: St Catherine’s Breakwater (meet at the cafe), Gunsite Jetty – St Aubin’s Bay & Bonne Nuit Harbour
The timing of this activity is booked on an incoming tide. The best tides for fishing are on spring tides, however it is possible to fish on all high waters, but the venue will be dependent on the height of the tides.
Session duration: 2 hours
Maximum group size: 6
Required Apparel: Comfortable shoes e.g. trainers and long trousers. Weather appropriate clothing and waterproofs in case of light rain showers. A bucket/container for any fish caught. If you have a rod of your own bring it along.
